Maybe somebody did it, but it wasn't published. On the other hand, & 2 B honest, I didn't either like the idea of the open casket. Too sad [-X.

If your very close to that person and you open the casket and look at the dead person or dead kid and said good bye or want talk to them for few min thats might be a little ok if you are very close that person.

I still consider that useless: if you love a person, you'd better show it when that person's alive & if you need to tell something, tell it when that person's still alive & can answer you. Otherwise, the only good thing you can do is to remember him/her the way he/she was, IMHO :(.

That's exactly what I've said somewhere else before, maybe not on this forum. My friend died a few years ago and while I do remember all the happy times while he was alive, my very last memory is him lying in a box. Not really how I wanted it to be, but at least I got to say goodbye. I would have felt horrible if I didn't go.

Same here. BTW, the day before yesterday a player of Spanish football (aka "soccer" at US) sadly died after suffering 5 consecutive cardio-pulmonary arrests. He was only 22. It's always very sad :(.

It's a phony photo everybody, I know this from a very, very reliable source... who really knows the truth in relation to this very important issue! Trust me when I say that the purported deceased Heather photo, is a complete and utter sham of a picture!

I further note that the guilty parties responsible for this image should hang their collective heads in shame, for exploiting the memory of this child!

The purported "death" image of Heather O'Rourke is fake everybody, and I'll tell you why:

1. The face of the person in the image is swollen like Heather was in Poltergeist 3 in early 1987, the sorry excuse of a human being whom faked the photo didn't know that Heather's face returned to normal by August 1987.Please refer to little one's School photos that were taken in September that year for verification!

2. Heather O'Rourke's favourite toy "DUMBO" was placed in her casket and it's no mini-toy, it's the size of a teddy bear, no such toy is visible whatsoever in this fake photo!

3. You'll notice that there is a photo of somebody placed in the coffin, in the area of the hands, who is this person in the image? If you look, you will notice the curly black hair in the photo that indicates it's certainly not Kathleen or anybody from Heather's family. The photo is there because the person in the coffin is NOT Heather, the photo is of a person who's in the coffin, who's certainly not Heather!

4. Look at the very bottom of the image that claims to be Heather. Notice the colour? It's white, and it's the edge of the casket. This particular person's casket is white in colour, Heather's was a grey colour and stainless steel.

5. Squarly look at the person who is claimed to represent Heather in the image, the hair is black! Heather O'Rourke didn't have black hair, that's a fact that all TRUE fans know about! Now, using contrast and brightness on your photoviewer, make the image as bright as you can, almost completely washed out the image with maximum brightness. There is still a black patch of hair at the top of the head, and it ain't no shadow! This unknown person had black hair.

6. Carefully look at the nose of the person in the coffin, can people see that it's been tinkered with? Heather O'Rourke didn't have a nose like the one projected in this sham of a image, Heather had a very very unusual nose. Her nose didn't stick out like most peoples noses do, it was level with her face and went straight up and down. Does the nose on the body in the coffin do that, no!!! The Authors of this fake photo tinkered with the image in order to blur the nose and create confusion, a scenerio that makes their ruse in their view, that much more acceptable!

7. Look at the inside casket lid. Normally, people tape family photos on it. It's been delibretaly "sprayed" over with that fake pink colour. Know why? Because it would have been abundantly obvious to all and sundry like who knew her family, that none of the people in the photos are related to Heather! The person or persons who dreamed up this death image, a shambolic disgraceful desecration of a child's memory, knew that and tried to cover it up. If this had been a real image of little one (it's not) I'd want to make sure he family photos could be seen predominantly in the picture to show that it's her.

AFTER SOME EXTENSIVE REASEARCH I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT'S A SHAM OF AN IMAGE! I have a very very reliable source to thank as well!

I complained straight away to the authors who were displaying this digraceful photo, only for them to show how yellow and gutless they were, by not even responding to my email! Get this... their source for the photo is a PORN ACTRESS, it's a situation that is beyond words to describe! These people are gutter trash for doing this to a great actress and innocent kid.

I always knew tabloids used to fake the information and photographs, but had no idea they did it so incompetently. I haven't seen this image (and still don't want to), but trusting what you say is true, i can only say: those who did it should be doubly ashamed... or even triply. Once for exploiting a memory of a dead actress such a disgraceful way, once for doing it with publishing a fake picture... and once for such a lousy work. And it took to gather some information and use a graphics editing program!
As JDM said, most of the press were "vultures descending the scene for curious America aplomb. Cameras inside the cofin interviewing worms." But quoting Joanna Chmielewska, Polish author of detective stories: "if you're a thief, be at least a perfect thief." The same should apply to the frauds.
