HELLO ALL!!!! I am a renewed member here & I posted a mess a day or 2 ago & don't know where it is or if this is the spot for telling about my Heather meeting . Brother Tim , here it goes & ya members bear with me. I got the oprotunitty to meet Heather back in 87 or 88 during the filming of Polt 3. The person that introduced me to her was with the film commision in Chicago & It was in the Handcock building, they finished for the day & it was dinner time. I was star struck at the time & started talkin like a droolin moron, but she put me at ease quickly. The idea of her being a girl 3 years younger than me soon entered & we talked for a few minutes before eating. I suggested Gino's East for some pizza all agreed. Our conversation consisted of . Hey this is a real honour to meet ya & what was that red stuff ya fell trough in polt 1, but amist of all that I was aglow & proud to be with her. I asked for an autograph pic before we left she greatly hooked me up, I got it somewhere in my house. I showed it to my kids one night after watching the first poltergeist, they thought it was cool & yesterday morning my Erin saw her on Happy Days on tuesday morning before going off to work. ###### kids never sleep ,3 in the mornin watchin happy days. I see I am running outta room but I want to tell ya more of my encounter cause it was really speacial & I don't know if I should write a whole novel here or what but like I said bear with me. TIM LET ME KNOW AWWRIGHT??? Ok LATER FRIENDS!!! Tom

Also, you actually weren't running out of room.... You can keep going and the box will automatically start to scroll for you.

Hi Tom,

yeah ... beautiful, that you have found here. tell us more. I think we are grateful for every detail about your meeting with Heather! How do you feel today? And how took you the information at that time as Heather died?

Do your children like Heather exactly so? How old are your children?

Till soon and take care!

Thanks Tim fer yer advice on the workings of this thing!!!! Okbefore we all went to the resturant we talked for a while, I got my pic taken with her too, actually a bunch taken of me & her , I have them some place cause I showed them to my kids about 6 months ago. Anywho we walked the few blocks to the resturant & her people followed along with the guy that set this thing up. I asked her how she liked the city , & she said it was very big , almost like New York, & she said she got to see all the museums , the aquarium & the sears Tower & etc. She was quite the tourist. OK we got inside this place & she was amazed at all the writting on the walls , so luckily we were both provided with a permanant marker & we went to town. Anyone familiar with this place we sat by the window upstairs we wrote on the west wall in that booth so Heather's handprints are there !!! We ate pepperroni pizza & talked about things like we were old friends from different worlds. After a while she wasn't a big celebrity anymore to me she became one of the warmest, nicest, people you could ever meet. Only thing that reminded me of her status was her people sitting by us & me having to go to high school soon. She talked about Cali & how here sister was in Annie. I talked about wanting to get into into acting & hoping to God I passed 8th grade & how much algebra sucked. She did inspire me to entertain .I played in a blues band & happened to perform infront of some of the LES MIS cast while they were on tour & I got to be in the show on tuesdays & Saturday's. So that all happened in 1991 . OK back to where I was. Heather pointed out a bad tupee on a very big guy & we laughed for a while. It was really amazing, for as crowded as the place was nobody knew who she was, a few DO I KNOW YOU FROM SOMEWHERE ?? Look . But I knew & so did her people. Aww I remember even flicking peices of pepperoni across the room , she thought that was hillarious, people were lokking everywhere except the one guy doin the flicking , Im laughing about it now. I still have a petrified peice of pizza from that night , its a tad green but still special. Well it was late & I knew our time together was comming to an end, & reality was fixin to set in. Heather asked me why I looked sad, & I replied that today will be one of the most specialist days of my life. We got up made the walk down the long , dark stairs that led to Supierior Street & made our way back to the Handcock building . She told me during the the walk that is was nice to talk to real kids again & how good of a time she had. We made it back to the building & she gave me my very first hug & a kiss on the cheek ever by a girl. I suddenly had the biggest crush on her that , so bad that it gave me that cottage cheese feeling . Heather said goodbye & good luck with what ever ya do. I said hope to see ya again . Heather was then taken away by her people. (My brain is working faster than my fingers) . I went home & watch Polt 1 & sat there & said hey I know her:) . I didnt see her again unitl the news of her passing, this wonderful human being that made such an impact on peoples lives GONE! I saw Heather in People mag, & the crappy disease she had. It was a very sad experience for all of us. However , you people know of someone in that same realm with Heather & I know my Dad is, along with a bunch of others I know. So I try not to screw up, cause they are watching us & we have the chance to see her again, COOL HUH?? THIS IS A REALLY COOL SITE TIM.. I was fortunate to have met Miss Heather O'Rourke. She still owns a dent in my heart. I think of her when I see the Handcock in the far distance. This is the same place Chris Farley passed. I visited her grave while I lived in Ventura , that was really moving, . I laid a flower there , said a prayer & said C'MON LETS GET SOME PIZZA. I felt a cold feeling for a few minutes , then climed back into the Pacer & left. So now Im back in Chicago writin this here note. hope i didnt bore, confuse, or make anyone sick. I will see The Handcock building here in a few minutes & the memories will live again. AWESOME SITE TIM & TAMMY!!! WE ALL NEED TO GO OUT FOR COFFEE!!!

Wow- I wouldn't have thought this...I think that many envy you it here. I am very glad, that you have met her and that you have found to this side. So we can learn a part about her life, which otherwise we would never learn. I am very grateful for it that you share it with us. I think that it isn't easy because one could fear that it only is invented.

But said honestly, I wouldn't want to swap with you. So I would have so also enjoyed meeting her, I am so afraid that I would be torn up by my feelings. On the one hand those feelings of the joy, because I was allowed to meet her, but I would have even deeper sorrow on the other side because I was allowed to experience her.

Therefore I can understand Tammy that she needs a break for all of this.

Thanx again Tom!

Sorry fergot one peice. I was really suprised she past.Who would think a little kid would get taken by an ugly thing nobody ever hears about. I lost a cousin & an uncle prior to her going, I was startin to think I was a curse. All I can ask of Heather now is to put in a good word for me, I SURE NEED IT!!!! Everytime I hear a match strike , I check to see if Im still alive & nobody is stikin up my furnace.

Oh, thank Tom that you having answered me questions!
I am a little sad that you have made very much apparent through. I hope that it wasn't so bad that you had to move because of this.

I am sure that we all meeting her, if the time of everybody has come from us. Everything is one!

I had problems to translate... you thought that you haven't found the pictures yet, because you haven't cleared out your boxes yet? (packing case)

I can wait hardly, too, to see the picture. But I think, your experience with her cannot be represented by this picture. It must have been indescribable.

Oh, I understand what you mean. I know such a feeling. If I didn't have Celia, Jessie and Aja I would be quite alone. I don't have any family. Therefore I am happy, that you despite your losses, have your children. I hope that you also have a woman. You didn't mention her yet. I hope that you feel better in the meantime!

How have you found this side? Tell it, please.

Take care Karsten

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

A blessing indeed.

Thanks so much for sharing your story with us Tom. You tell it so well that I can just imagine how it was to be you sitting there talking and walking with Heather. What a blessing it is for us to actually meet someone who met Heather. Did you by any chance meet any of Heather's family or maybe other friends?

If you could somehow find those pictures of you and Heather that you were talking about that would be awesome, and we would all greatly appreciate that. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
