It was not the curse. It had to do with the miscarrage of her brother and then her birth....or something to do with that matter.

Let me correct you: she sadly passed away on February 1st 1988, at 14:43 California time (about 23:43 European Union time). She was buried on February 5th after 2 funeral services (1 private & 1 in a Hollywood-Star way) I hope this will help U .

You are right, when you said,? it was not the curse!!!? I believe in what you said is true! I also truly believe that God has written in her destiny that she will die on February 5th 1988.But we can never change if death took her away from us. What we can do is to pray for her & she will also pray for us too! She has gone to the angels & she will never come back again!
We all miss you Heather O Rourke so much. May God give you comfort & love in Heavens!

Well, in a few words, some people think that messing with ghosts or H€ll can bring awful consequences. In fact "Poltergeist" is one of the so-called cursed movies like "Rosemary's Baby", "The Exorcist" or "The Omen" that messed with those themes, and curiously some evil things happened in the movies' environment (accidents, misterious and/or sudden deaths...) which increase popular superstition as well as their feelings about death and afterlife. In the case of the "Poltergeist" trilogy, 4 actors passed away in different circumstances, always during filming or a few after their release, being reported some accidents as well (just watch the E! Special for further information).

That pretty much sums it up. But,yeah her death had nothing to do with any curse. It's really sad that she died so young and the way she did. She will forever be in our hearts and minds.

I still can't believe she's gone. To die especially so young is heart breaking. Her life was only just beginning and i just wish she was still with us.

Heather's tragic passing was apparently so shocking, that in some newspapers (such as The Herald Examiner, The Palm Beach Post, and The Spokane Chronicle), it was front page news.

Julian Beck (Kane) was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1983-4 which means his passing had nothing to do with the curse, he was dying from cancer. Will Sampson was in ill health during his heart surgery so there was risks. Dominique Dunne was killed by her MONGRAL ex-boyf Jon Maura (Sweeney), she should have been saved but her co-star of V, David Packer just sat there in the house and turned up the music to block out Dom's cries for help!
WHAT A COWARD! I d save Dom from that monster ex-boyfriend.
And Heathers death could have been prevented if her insurance company (not sure if thats correct)had said yes to surgery before she died.

It's alright if someone thinks there's a curse, and it's also ok to disagree with that. We don't all have to believe in it

And all these are preexisting conditions including Heather's. Cancer starts at least ten years before being diagnosed.
